In 1919, a wave of molasses flooded the streets of Boston's North End. It was, by all accounts, a disaster. We turned it into a cookie.

We start with unsalted butter and granulated sugar — creamed together until perfectly smooth.

Cage-free eggs and rich molasses go in next, mixed together until fully combined and deeply fragrant.

Then comes our dry mix — Vermont's own King Arthur flour, our custom blend of leaveners, and just enough salt to even things out — along with a warm blend of ground cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg that gives this cookie its signature spice.

Each cookie is hand-scooped and baked to a soft, chewy finish — rich, spiced, and unmistakably Boston.
